Positioned along the banks of the Canning River, the suburb is known for leafy streets, open parklands and relaxed suburban environment. Ferndale offers a balanced lifestyle with easy access to nature, while still being close to surrounding commercial centres, schools and transport routes. Ferndale: A Closer Look

Ferndale began developing in the mid to late 20th century as Perth expanded into its southern suburbs. Designed primarily as a residential area, the suburb grew around local schools, neighbourhood parks and community spaces that helped to establish its family oriented character.
